The past six months have been a rollercoaster, to say the least. My brother enlisted in the military, I lost my cat of nearly 20 years, I got my BFA, I didn't use my BFA, I was denied an opportunity I'd striven toward for many years, old friends moved away, new friends grew closer. Right now, my family is in the process of selling the home I lived in during high school (and which I've been living in again for the past two years). I'm going to be moving downtown for while, and it's reinvigorated me, artistically. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I'm drawing out of will, not obligation. It's a nice feeling.
My goal from now on is going to be at least one drawing a day, even if it's just a doodle. I may not post them immediately (or ever), but my mind is made up. They're going to happen! Once I'm all set up in the new apartment at the beginning of June, I'm going to put together an online portfolio. I'm also planning on investigating the Phoenix illustration and cartooning scene (I didn't actually realize there was a comic convention here until about a week ago). Hell, maybe I'll even get around to making that/those webcomic(s) I've always secretly wanted to do.
Yeah, life is good.
